YAC members are invited to see a screening of the documentary, It’s a Girl on either August 9, 2014 from 3 – 5pm at the North Columbus Public Library large conference room, or August 23, 2014 from 4:30 – 6pm at the Macon Road Library. Both screenings are being hosted by Ishani Rewatkar, who is working towards earning her Girl Scout Gold Award, by raising awareness about the major gender inequality issue of female feticide in India.

To broaden the scope of youth leadership in Columbus, Georgia through volunteerism, service and initiatives that are directed towards allowing youth input into policy issues, identifying youth issues, and participating in the development of positive solutions.


Interested in joining the Youth Advisory Council?


YAC meetings are held every 4th Monday of each month during the school term at the Columbus Consolidated Government Center building on the Plaza level. All meetings begin at 6:00 pm. Our meetings are also broadcast by CCG-TV, check your TV listings for the correct channel and time (look for Government Access Channel).
