Youth Advisory Council of Columbus, GA


"A partnership between the City of Columbus and the Muscogee County School District."


Mission:

To broaden the scope of youth leadership in Columbus, Georgia through volunteerism, service and initiatives that are directed towards allowing youth input into policy issues, identifying youth issues, and participating in the development of positive solutions.

Purpose:    
Actively involve youth on policy issues

  •  Develop healthy citizen habits for the future of
      the community
Broaden the scope of youth leadership in
   City  Government and Muscogee County
   School  District affairs
 
  •  Promote public awareness of the strengths
     and abilities of youth
•  Promote experiential learning on the
     functions of City Government and the
     Muscogee County School District
  •  Actively involve youth in planning, developing
     and implementing social, cultural and
     recreational activities that are drug and
     alcohol-free
