This project involves the relocation of a world class collection of Civil War artifacts including two significant period warships. The only museum of its kind, the Woodruff Museum of Civil War Naval History seeks to interpret the very significant technological contributions of this innovative period of warfare. Plans include incorporation of living history, as well as research facilities for the professional and student of history. Conceptual plans have been developed by Abbott & Associates, planners specializing in museum and national park design.
