Established by the National Challenger Center for Space Science Education whose purpose is to foster interest in math, science and technology for all ages. The Columbus facility s the 1st in Georgia and the only site nationwide to include a planetarium and observatory. It provides both residents and visitors with access to the latest in high-tech equipment. It uses 'virtual reality' technology to promote interest in and expand understanding of our universe in an exciting entertaining and stimulating environment. The facility is owned and operated by Columbus State University.
