About Help the Hooch:
What is Help the Hooch?
Help the Hooch is the single largest River and Creek cleanup event in the Southeast currently in its twelfth year. Our mission is to protect the water resources of the Middle Chattahoochee River Basin by removing solid waste from our waterways and to promote environmental stewardship in the Tri-Communities of Columbus, GA, Phenix City, AL, and Ft. Benning Military Reservation.
Help the Hooch is truly a collaborative effort, coordinated and funded by a Public/Private partnership of governmental agencies, utility companies, environmental consultants, corporations and local businesses. Each year, Help the Hooch attracts over 10,000 volunteers and removes over 100,000 pounds of litter from our watersheds.
