At the October 15, 2007, Board of Education meeting, the Muscogee County School District recognized the Youth Advisory Council for their leadership and interest in making a better community for the youth of Columbus, Ga.
The Youth Advisory Council is a partnership between the City of Columbus and the Muscogee County School District. The purpose of this partnership is to actively involve youth on policy issues affecting them and broaden the scope of youth leadership in City Government and MCSD affairs. This partnership promotes learning about the functions of City Government and promoting public awareness of the strengths and abilities of youth. It actively involves youth in the planning, developing and implementing of social, cultural, and recreational activities that are drug and alcohol free.
